What happens when you bring together some of the biggest talents in the hairdressing industry? A lot of laughs and triple the energy, as evidenced at the unveiling of the upcoming The 4th Dimension: The Day of the Hairdresser, an event produced and conceived by Emiliani Enterprises. The two-day educational event will be held April 15 and 16 in Atlantic City at the Trump Taj Mahal, and is bringing together a laundry list of industry greats: Amit Abraham, Jo Blackwell-Preston, Robert Cromeans, Joseph Dimaggio, Nicholas French, Rafe Hardy, Tim Hartley, Gina Khan, Patrick McIvor, Michael O’Rourke, Boyd Parris, Leonel Rodriquez, Rocky Vitelli and Phillip Wilson. The idea behind The 4th Dimension, says Emiliani Enterprises president and C.O.O. Carl Galasso, is to promote non-manufacturer-affiliated education as well as a celebration of what makes this industry so phenomenal; all artists will be performing on one stage, and won’t be divulging what products they’re using. As proof to the anticipated impact this event will have on the industry, 10 minutes before Emiliani Enterprises’ VP of sales and corporate strategy Andre Chiavelli took to the podium to announce The 4th Dimension, he received a text from none other than industry icon Vidal Sassoon. The words from Sassoon summed up the overwhelming feeling of each and every hairstylist participating: “To the industry: A high level of quality and discipline in the craft without the pure capital aspects is a joy to watch—get it on!” And while products aren’t the focus of the show, L’Oréal Professionnel portfolio artist Jo Blackwell-Preston summed it up best: “We are all very proud of our brands and we are all very indebted to them—they gave us a career—but the truth of the matter is, it’s us against the kitchen beautician. It’s one love, and we’re in it to win it; it’s going to be the most rockin’ show.” Want to watch hair history happen?
