How-To: Dove Cameron's Messy French Twist

Dove Cameron arrived at the 2023 Vanity Fair Oscar Party in a Toni Maticevski dress, with a messy French twist to compliment her look. 

Her hair was styled by celebrity hair stylist Jacob Rozenberg (@jacobrozenberg) using products from Balmain Hair Couture.

“Dove wanted to feel girly, cute and glamorous - she didn't want her hair to be too done," Rozenberg said. "She’s been doing a lot of cool-girl, edgy stuff with her recent music, and wanted to switch things up for her Vanity Fair look and go with a messy French twist for her appearance.”

How-To: 

1. To achieve Dove’s tousled, messy up-do, start by using the 14K Gold Plated Styling Comb to section the hair.
2. Next, apply the Volume Mousse Strong and use the 14K Gold Plated Styling Comb to work the product through from the roots so it disperses evenly.
3. For the blowdry, Rozenberg mostly used his hands, but on surface areas such as off the part, around the face and the neck, he used the Professional Ceramic Round Brush 33mm.
4. To add bends to the hair, use a curling iron, and whenever you need to brush out the hair and detangle it, use the Detangling Spa Brush everywhere else.
5. To create the shape of the messy French twist, use Session Spray Medium & bobby pins.
6. Lastly, use the Session Spray Strong for final touches to make it last all night!
