Hairdustry, Your Day Off Podcast, recently hosted a zoom interview with A'Lelia Bundles, great-great granddaughter of hair care entrepreneur Madam C.J. Walker. Walker is credited as being America's first self-made millionaire—a feat in of itself, of course, but all the more remarkable when you realize this was an achievement made more than 100 years ago by a Black woman. Because of Walker's ingenious entrepreneurship, hundreds of Black women were lifted out of poverty. Bundles is a journalist, news producer and author of three books of her great-great grandmother, including "On Her Own Ground: The Life and Times of Madam C.J. Walker," which was the basis for the popular Neflix miniseries, Self Made. Listen to the podcast to hear more about the remarkable life of Madam C.J. Walker and what her legacy means for today's hairstylists. Thank you to Hairdustry for inviting Beauty Launchpad to be part of this landmark interview.
