The 67th Grammy Awards gathered the biggest names in music to celebrate their artistry, while showcasing unforgettable hair and beauty moments. Because the hair at the Grammy Awards was so magical, we have to cover it twice! If you missed it, we shared five step-by-step tutorials for recreating bold, glamorous styles sported by names like Sabrina Carpenter, Chappell Roan and more direct from the celebrity hairstylists who created the looks! Here, Beauty Launchpad Managing Editor Gabby Bach rounds up some of her other favorite styles from the night (with a few more tutorials, because why not?).
1. Taylor Swift's Loose Waves and Blunt Fringe
Taylor Swift made a splash on the red carpet, wearing a Vivienne Westwood minidress in Kansas City Chief's red. The dress featured a T (for Troy? Taylor? Travis?) charm hanging off her upper thigh.
To compliment her attire, Jemma Muradian (@jemmamuradian) styled Swift's hair in loose waves with blunt bangs. With Swift returning to her country roots to present the winner for Best Country Album, this classier version of her traditional country curls felt perfect for the night.
2. Willow Smith's Eye-Catching Afro
Willow Smith turned heads on the red carpet with a voluminous, middle-part Afro that showcased her gorgeous, natural texture.
OLAPLEX Global Ambassador and celebrity hairstylist Vernon François (@vernonfrancois) took inspiration from Willow's recent red carpet premiere and TV appearances to create the chic look.
"We took those references but adapted them to embrace the way her hair has grown. Since it no longer stands upright in the same way, we incorporated a center part, allowing it to naturally expand outward and take on a beautiful halo effect," Francois shares. “Willow’s main request was to keep the style free and full of volume— completely natural with no extensions. She wanted her hair to feel light, effortless and true to its texture, allowing it to move beautifully throughout the night.”
How-To:
- Scalp & Hair Prep: I started by treating both the scalp and hair with OLAPLEX No.7 Bonding Oil—a fantastic product for protecting and nourishing the hair. I massaged it into the scalp, ensuring it was fully absorbed while also working it through the strands. This step helps create a healthy foundation, adding shine and moisture while preparing the hair for styling.
- Strength & Styling Base: Next, I applied OLAPLEX No.9 Bond Protector Nourishing Hair Serum, focusing on the mid-lengths and ends. This helped shield the hair from environmental damage while enhancing softness and movement, ensuring the Afro maintained its light, fluffy texture.
- Shaping & Volume: Since Willow’s hair has grown longer, we opted for a center part to let the shape naturally expand outward into a beautiful halo effect. I worked with the natural volume of her texture, gently picking out sections to enhance fullness while keeping the look effortless and free-flowing.
- Final Touches: To finish, I used a light touch of OLAPLEX No.7 Bonding Oil again on my fingertips, gently grazing the ends for added definition and a healthy shine without weighing the hair down. The result? A chic, soft, and voluminous Afro with movement—completely free, natural, and true to Willow’s vision.
3. Lady Gaga's Gothic Glam Hime Cut and Micro Bangs
Lady Gaga had a big night, winning Best Pop Duo Performance with Bruno Mars for "Die with a Smile," as well as performing "California Dreamin'" with him on the Grammy's stage and debuting the music video for "Abracadabra" off her new album.
On the red carpet, she turned heads in a Victorian-inspired, custom Samuel Lewis gown that gave off gothic glamour vibes. To match that aesthetic, Sebastian Professional Creative Culture Director Frederic Aspiras (@fredericaspiras) styled Gaga's jet black hair into a sleek jellyfish cut with micro bangs using products from Sebastian Professional.
The jellyfish cut appears to be the newest trend emerging from the red carpet, with Good Morning America already catching wind of it. The look combines a blunt bob and mullet, taking inspiration from the traditional Japanese hime cut. While this daring trend was popular in 2023, it seems to be making a full-force comeback!
4. Beyoncé Striking, Sleek Platinum Blonde Locks
Beyoncé had a record-breaking and career-defining night at the Grammy Awards. She won her first Album of the Year, became the first Black woman to win Country Album of the Year and continued her streak as the most-awarded artist in Grammy history.
For such a celebratory night, the superstar wore a shimmering, golden gown with a paisley white pattern — iconic country glamour at its finest. The look paired perfectly with her long, shiny platinum blonde locks, with a perfect center part, styled by Neal Farinah (@nealfarinah) using products from Beyoncé's haircare brand CÉCRED.
5. Charli XCX's Inky Locks
Charli XCX is shining in her BRAT era! The pop star won her first three Grammys for Best Recording Package, Best Dance/Electronic Album and Best Dance Pop recording. She also made her mark on the red carpet in a gray Jean Paul Gaultier ruffled dress.
To help her shine on the red carpet and the Grammy's stage as a performer, Jacob Schwartz (@jacobschwartzhair) crafted a rich, multidimensional deep brown meets black using Schwarzkopf Professional’s IGORA VIBRANCE Demi-Permanent Color Line. The deep, inky locks appeared glossy, vibrant under stage lights and camera flashes all night long!
How-To:
- Roots: 20g 1-0 + 20g 4-13 with 13Vol Lotion Activator
- Ends: 3-0 with 6Vol Gel Activator
- Processing Time: 20 minutes
6. Janelle Monáe's Textured Curls
Janelle Monáe paid tribute to late music legend Quincy Jones at the Grammy Awards, with a performance of his produced mega-hit "Don't Stop 'Till You Get Enough" by Michael Jackson. For an electrifying performance, Monáe needed an electrifying look. She turned to Nikki Nelms (@nikkinelms) to pump up her curls with plenty of texture using OLAPLEX.
"Her performance outfit really was where we drew inspiration from," Nelms shares. "We gave a funky Janelle look with a hint of Michael Jackson inspo!”
How-To:
- We chose to shampoo with OLAPLEX No.4 Bond Maintenance Shampoo and No.5 Bond Maintenance Conditioner a day before the performance, so her hair could have a more lived-in texture. We also gave her a fresh trim, so everything was super clean for the carpet and performance.
- On the day of, I lightly misted Janelle's hair with water and rubbed a small amount of OLAPLEX N°.5 Leave-In Moisturize & Mend Leave-in Conditioner for added moisture.
- I then gave her a loose, defined twist using the No.10 Bond Shaper Curl Defining Gel with a rattail comb and my fingers all over. Then, I diffused until fully dry.
- Once fully dry, I used the OLAPLEX No.7 Bonding Oil oil on each twist to help soften and add an extra layer of shine and vibrancy!
7. Cardi B's Old Hollywood Bob
Cardi B made a fierce entrance at the Grammys, rocking a custom, sequined-covered gown by Roberto Cavalli Courture, which featured a cascade of feathers in purple, orange, black and white.
To pair with her mesmerizing attire, celebrity hairstylist Tokyo Stylez (@tokyostylez) crafted a glamorous, Old Hollywood Bob with a side part. Cardi B also rocked the trendy Cherry Cola hair color, with an install using hair from Kendra's Boutique. Cardi B is the latest star to bring the vintage and Old Hollywood hair looks to the red carpet, and we can't get enough of this trend!
8. Olivia Rodrigo's Soft, Bouncy Waves
Olivia Rodrigo wore a daring vintage Versace halter dress, with plunging cut outs across her chest, back and sides, to the Grammys, where she was nominated for Best Song Written for Visual Media.
With such a bold fashion choice, hairstylist Clayton Hawkins (@claytonhawkins) crafted bouncy, soft waves using a roller set for her hair look for the night. We are obsessed!
9. Gracie Abrams' Veiled French Bob
Nominated for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance with Taylor Swift for "Us," Gracie Abrams attended the Grammy Awards as a blushing bride in an ivory Chanel gown with a flower at the bodice and a black belt at the waist. Her sleek French bob was center parted, tucked behind the ears and accessorized with a veil.
Celebrity hairstylist Bobby Eliot (@bobbyeliot) created her style for the night using products and tools from Briogeo, Wavytalk and TangleTeezer.
10. Miley Cyrus' Jellyfish Cut
Just like Lady Gaga, Miley Cyrus stepped out on the Grammy's red carpet in a jellyfish cut! To pair with her daring cut, Cyrus wore a black leather custom Saint Laurent dress with an ab-baring cross-front halter neckline and a pencil skirt.
Celebrity hairstylist Bob Recine (@bobrecine) created Cyrus' jellyfish cut with blunt, chin-length pieces framing her slightly curled bangs. Her long locks, which were styled loosely down her back, featured Y2K chunky highlights. Recine used products from Nexxus Haircare to bring the look to life.
