Over the course of the month, we will be spotlighting the winners of Beauty Launchpad’s 30 Under 30 for 2023, sponsored by Denman Pro.

Today, you will get to know Danielle O’Rangers (@danielle.did.my.hair). She is a 29-year-old stylist at Elle Hair Design in Broomall, Pennsylvania.

Q&A:

Beauty Launchpad (BLP): What is a fun fact about you?

Danielle O’Rangers (DO): I’m a die hard “Star Wars” nerd. I fell in love with this franchise at a young age and remember being terrified of Darth Maul. I have watched every movie over 10x each. In my next life, I hope I’m a Jedi before Order 66.

BLP: What is your proudest accomplishment?

DO: My proudest accomplishment, besides being named 30 Under 30 by Beauty Launchpad, is working with Masters of Balayage. They are truly such an empowering company. Ryan, Jeni, Amanda, Emily M – the entire team works so hard to always motivate you. I’m forever grateful for my MOB team!

BLP: What is your current favorite hairstyle trend?

DO: Well, being a natural ginger, I feel like I naturally sway towards warm tones. I’m LIVING for all these warm honey blondes and the cowgirl reds! Even though the icy blonde was fun for a while, I’m glad to see it move aside. It is the golden hour baby!

BLP: What is a hair tip you have for your fellow stylists?

DO: DO NOT forget where you came from and what you started with. We all started with 0 clients and no money. Instagram now can make us feel so small, but I promise you that you are not. Stay in your lane and hustle. The only person you should be competing with is yourself. I’m a small town stylist with less than 3,000 followers and my work spoke for itself. Don’t let imposter syndrome take you down! You're worthy!

BLP: What do you love about your work?

DO: I never look at a client as a “ticket.” I love being able to make someone feel beautiful. They are able to put all stress and worries aside for that split second during the reveal and smile and feel beautiful! We are so powerful. People come to us because there is something they do not like about themselves. We have the power to change that! People often laugh at me because I always finish a service with the saying “how do you feel?” Why? Because they should feel great! My work made that client feel confident! That smile at the end of the service is what I love about my work.

BLP: What motivates you about the industry you are in?

DO: Myself! All my life I had to prove I could do it. I was told I would be another beauty school dropout. I paid for my own schooling. I bartended every night to pay for school. My first ever client made me cry because she told me I would never be a good hairdresser. Everyday I think about her and how she could have sabotaged my career and my future. If I let her words get to me, I would never be here. We have to be our own cheerleader and fill our own cups.

BLP: What is a professional goal you have for yourself?

DO: To become a Masters of Balayage Educator. I really love working with this company. I want to be able to show students and other stylists that you do not need millions of Instagram followers to be successful. You can be a little small town stylist like me and make a name for yourself! Everyday I push myself to be a better stylist than I was yesterday, and I will always have this mindset.
