RUSK

Professional hair care veteran RUSK has announced a comprehensive brand reset for 2026, consolidating its portfolio into the newly elevated RUSK Designer Collection. Soft launched in January, the reset aims to modernize the brand’s legacy of "rebellious artistry" by streamlining product navigation and improving behind-the-chair efficiency for professional stylists.

According to the company, the Designer Collection refresh preserved professional-preferred formulas while updating its visual and structural elements. Per the company, "For icons like W8less Plus Hairspray, the performance remains intact. The hold, spray pattern, flexibility, and finish that stylists have relied on for decades have not changed. The formulas of this collection continue to meet current regulatory and professional standards while preserving their signature performance."

A Unified System Built for the Modern Salon

The brand reset moves away from disconnected product silos, bringing styling and care under one intuitive identity. The initiative, themed "Bold. Confident. Iconic.," focuses on removing friction from the salon workflow. According to David Rosenblatt, CEO of Beauty Quest Group, the "Designer Collection" is designed to simplify professional services and support stronger retail ROI.

The Styling Framework: Four Essential Groups

The reorganized styling portfolio consists of 17 SKUs—expanded with four new hero stylers—organized into systems that align with specific client goals:

  • Smooth & Protect: Features the new D-Frizz Primer, which offers 72-hour frizz control and a 60% increase in shine.

  • Texturize & Define: Includes a new Curl Defining Gel and a matte finish Pomade for buildable shape.

  • Volume & Body: anchored by the new Smoothr Blow Dry Cream to replenish moisture and enhance shine.

  • Finish & Hold: Maintaining legacy best-sellers like the W8less and W8less + hairsprays.

This reorganization "improves efficiency by aligning products by result rather than individual SKU names," per the company. "Stylists can move more quickly through services, intuitively select the right products during busy days, and train assistants with greater ease."

Furthermore, says the brand, "The structure mirrors the natural service flow, reducing decision time behind the chair. At retail, the system-based organization simplifies client self-shopping, encourages regimen-based purchasing instead of single-item sales, and creates a more cohesive shelf presentation, ultimately supporting stronger attachment rates and higher overall retail ROI."

"Back to Essentials" Care Regimens

On the care side, RUSK has introduced three simplified regimens designed for precision and intention:

  • Quench (Intense Hydration): A shea butter and sunflower oil-enriched formula for moisture without weight.

  • Elevate (Weightless Volume): A system clinically shown to improve hair strength by up to 41% and resilience to breakage by up to 60%.

  • Vivid (Color Locking): A concentrated system utilizing amino acids and plant proteins to extend color longevity post-service.

Minimalist Packaging Overhaul

The collection debuts a bold, modernized packaging design centered on minimalism. Strategic updates include a signature red cap for high shelf impact and category-specific colors to aid in easy merchandising and quick product selection during fast-paced services.

"The unified visual identity across care and styling simplifies education by organizing the brand around a clear, service-driven structure rather than individual product memorization," the brand notes. "By aligning backbar care and styling within a cohesive system that mirrors the natural flow of a salon service—prep, build, and maintainstylists can more easily understand how products work together to create and preserve results. This clarity builds confidence behind the chair, strengthens consultation language, and makes retail recommendations feel like a seamless extension of the service rather than a separate sales conversation."

Strategic Importance for Stylists

For industry insiders, this move represents a "post-elevation" strategy focused on value and performance over complex branding. By reducing SKU counts and clarifying descriptors, the Designer Collection aims to empower stylists to work "smarter, not harder," while providing a "trusted canvas" for all hair textures.
