Elevai Labs Inc. is expanding from skin care to hair care with its S-Series Root Renewal System that contains a three-part shampoo, conditioner and serum combining exosome and mitochondrial technology to target scalp and hair health at the cellular level, according to a Dec. 6 press release.

According to the release, research and clinical studies for the Root Renewal System took 15 years, in partnership with Carly Klein, President of National Hair Loss Medical Aesthetics, to formulate two technologies within the product: Elevai PREx Exosomes and Y100 by Yuva Biosciences.

The Root Renewal system has shown effectiveness in hair thinning, reducing scalp inflammation and recovery of dormant hair follicles, per the company.

Exosomes, also known as nano-vesicles released by stem cells, are nano-encapsulated growth factors protected by a lipid bilayer to support dormant hair follicles and scalp health, according to the release. A recent NLM study concluded that existing clinical trials show exosomes can accelerate skin wound healing.

The Y100 by Yuva Biosciences is a small molecule discovered by AI to support mitochondrial function that increases cellular energy to rejuvenate hair follicles, according to the release.

“By combining our proprietary PREx Exosomes with Yuva Bio’s Y100 mitochondrial technology, we’ve developed a dual-mechanism solution that promotes follicle rejuvenation and scalp vitality,” said Jordan R. Plews, Ph.D., chief executive officer of Elevai Skincare.
