Compete to Win: P&G Salon Professional Student Stylist Competition

Calling all cosmetology students! P&G Salon Professional is building the next generation of stylists by conducting its third and even more fabulous Student Stylist Competition at the 2012 America’s Beauty Show, March 5, 2012 in Chicago, IL. P&G Salon Professional Creative Director Fabio Sementilli will present first place winners with a check for $1,000, an all-expense paid trip to Los Angeles, CA to attend Wella Professionals North American Trend Vision Awards (NATVA), a one-year supply of PGSP product, and their choice of an in-school education course taught by a top PGSP educator. “Energizing and encouraging students to reach their highest potential is our goal at P&G Salon Professional,” says Sementilli. “We are dedicated to providing exciting opportunities for the next generation of stylists.”

“It was so rewarding to win the P&G Salon Professional Student Competition in 2011,” said Kathryn Hornick. “I had great mentors to help guide me through the toughest parts. The P&G Student Competition gave me the opportunity to network and meet a lot of top artists as well! I encourage every student to work hard and do the same!”

How Cosmetology Students Will Compete and Win!

Students will select a model, take a “before” picture of your model, then interpret one of the looks within your chosen category from Wella Professionals, Clairol Professional and Sebastian Professional using the Inspiration Guide for the category you choose. Create an overall look that includes not only color and style, but also wardrobe, makeup and your own personal style, then take an “after” picture and submit to P&G Salon Professional.

Finalists in the Wella Professionals, Clairol Professional and Sebastian Professional categories will have the opportunity to show their models on stage at America’s Beauty Show, March 5, 2012, before a prestigious panel of educators and judges.

Introducing the Instructor of the Year Award:

P&G Salon Professional believes that behind every great student is a great teacher. On this year’s entry forms, students will have the chance to nominate their mentor or instructor. The person who has encouraged and inspired the student most throughout their journey to becoming an amazing stylist will receive the Instructor of the Year award. “Throughout our careers, there have been special folks who have truly believed in our ability and knew it was their duty to mentor and guide us to succeed, beyond themselves and positively change our lives,” says Sementilli. “For this reason, P&G Salon Professional has added this very special award category to recognize the unsung instructors/mentors in schools and salons throughout North America.”
