Beauty News: Dermalogica Creates Magic at 20th Annual International Education Conference

“Creating Magic at every opportunity” was the theme for Dermalogica’s 20th Annual International Education Conference, held at the brand’s corporate headquarters in Carson, California. Representing the elite of the world’s senior skin care educators, 35 countries were represented in the week-long intensive focused on interactive learning techniques and technology, scientific and ingredient breakthroughs, and advanced hands-on learning.

Making the journey to Los Angeles from Canada, Europe, Asia, Australia, Latin America, the Middle East and South Africa, as well as from across the United States: 122 top educators, plus senior instructors and training managers from around the world.

The concept of “creating magic” was introduced by the brand’s founder on the opening day of the Conference, followed by a preview of the brand’s 2014 educational offerings by Annet King, Director of Global Education; preview of a new skin physiology class, “SKIN: Know It Before You Treat It” presented by Dr. Claudia Aguirre, Scientific Communications Manager for The International Dermal Institute; and a “fact and fiction” exploration of ingredient innovations from Dr. Diana Howard, Vice President of Global Education & Research and Development. The closing presentation titled “Inspiring the Student to Greatness” was made by Charmaine Cooper, an educator from Toronto, Canada. Participants also previewed a new MicroZone treatment for sensitive skin featuring the recently launched Dermalogica UltraSmoothing Eye Serum, and enjoyed a sneak-peak at the new Clear Start line developed for teens with oily and acneic skin.
