Hairstyles How To: Eva Longoria at Cannes 2013

What a week it was at the 66th Annual Cannes Film Festival!  Fresh off the plane, celebrity stylist, Ricardo Rojas, definitely made his mark on the mane of Eva Longoria during the Global Gift Gala on May 19.

Having done Eva's hair color the week before, Ricardo used a No. 3 Chocolate Brown color opt combined with 1/4 of a No. 4 gold hue to bring out Eva's natural skin tone.  He pointed out that he didn't want to apply too much of an ash base with her olive complexion.

A top presenter at the Gala, Eva needed to make a statement AND have all of her hair in place for the Nikki Beach After Party!  For the actual event, he went with a sexy half up, half down pompadour.

He started by blow drying and setting her hair with L'Oreal's Satin Hold spray to give her hair "extra holding power."  He then divided her hair into two, adding some tease to the top in order to create the "pompadour" effect.  Next up, he brought the two pieces of separated hair along the sides into a taut ponytail, leaving the rest to hang loose down her back.  A simple adjustment with invisible pins and voila!

The main thing about the style, Rojas stated, was keeping the hair on the sides of her head very clean and uniformed, so that the "Line of the Look" matched her neckline.

AND – the look held up as Eva and friends partied well into the night at the official after party at Nikki Beach.

All in all, in Ricardo's words: "a very sleek, chic do for the balmy weather conditions of Cannes."
