In July, OLAPLEX announced the names of the 15 hair professionals chosen to be a part of its Pro Collective. The team will provide on-the-ground support for OLAPLEX at industry events and shows. Stylists can watch for elevated technique-based education and inspiration from this team of OLAPLEX artists. They will share their expertise with innovative products they use in how-tos, before-and-afters and in-person education events, in addition to high valued technique driven classes with the brand's distributor partners.
In true celebration of artistry, collectively they specialize in color, cutting, blonding, extensions, vivids, transformations, balayage, consultations and education across all hair types and textures. Their strong social media presence, industry influence and authentic passion for their craft have made them trusted within the hair stylist community.
Here, a selection of the Pro Collective team members share how they got their start in the industry, what drew them to OLAPLEX, how the Collective is generating community in the industry and so much more.

Getting Their Start
Every hairstylist finds their way into the industry in their own unique way, whether it be on accident, through family/friends or a plethora of other reasons. Each of the Pro Collective members has their own journey that led them to become a hair pro that they shared with us.
Alejandro Lopez got his start assisting before working his way up to his own chair, where he is now known for his creative color work. "I’ve always wanted to do creative color and braiding, and those were the two things that I did in the beginning of my career, with my creative coloring being my main focus now," he says.
Daisy "Daze" Henson has become known for inventing the Virtual Curly Cut, virtually connecting with clients around the world and guiding them step by step on how and where to cut their curls for a custom 360-degree haircut, but she didn't start out that way. "I got started in the hair industry as a 14-year-old teenager, cutting asymmetrical styles for my friends in Minnesota out of my bedroom in the late '80s. Since I struggled to find a stylist who could work with my curl pattern and texture, I became skilled at doing my own hair," she explains. "Eventually, tired of always doing it myself, I found a stylist who could work with my curls. She became my mentor and encouraged me to go to cosmetology school, where I specialized in curly hair, eventually opening my own studio to fill a gap in curly hair expertise."
Best known for her corrective color work and pixie cuts, Amy Spencer found her love of hairstyling as a teenager, experimenting on any willing volunteers. "I wanted to join the industry when I was in high school, but I wasn’t dedicated enough to take it seriously," she adds. "When my son went to preschool, I was determined to go to cosmetology school and make it a career. I discovered more love for the science, community and art of hair. I only craved more once I got my license."
Alissa Geyer, who specializes in blonding and blending but is also known for her videos on social media where she showcases hair transformations and educates on the importance of a proper consultation, also found her love for the industry at a young age. "I’ve wanted to do hair since I was 4 years old, so being a hairstylist was a long time coming for me," she says. "I actually went to beauty school to fulfill that dream of mine fresh out of high school, but, due to health issues, I was forced to drop out and wait another five years until I was healthier to go back, complete the program and get my license, which I ended up doing in 2019. I finished that program six months early and went straight into assisting and working behind the chair."
Discovering OLAPLEX
With its many signature products, OLAPLEX is a staple in the industry for its innovative technology that helps repair and strengthen hair, among many other reasons. Since its launch in 2014, the brand has developed a reliable reputation that its Collective believes in, especially after discovering the brand for themselves.
Jaytaun Rebber, who specializes in hair health, discovered OLAPLEX in a booth rental salon where she was starting to build clientele after receiving a cosmetology license. "The technologies that OLAPLEX has created work on a molecular level to repair and strengthen the hair like no other hair products I’ve ever used," she says. "So, to me, what more can you ask for?" Rebber adds that her top three go-to products from the brand currently are Noº.4C Clarifying Shampoo, the Noº.5 Moisturize & Mend Leave-In Conditioner and the new Noº.10 Bond Shaper Curl Defining Gel.
Geyer discovered OLAPLEX in 2015 while highlighting her sister's hair in her kitchen, explaining, "This was during my time of bedrest, and I used any opportunity I had to try out techniques I’d watch on YouTube on my sister’s hair. She was someone who would use sun-In to lighten her hair. Because of this, I could never get her to a clean level 9 without the hair melting. I had heard of OLAPLEX through YouTube, and I was dying to try it. I used it on my sister for the first time, mixed in with her highlights and kept my eye to see if her hair would lift better and IT DID! She lifted to a clean level 10 with no damage. Her hair was healthier and shinier than before. I was SOLD."
After discovering that OLAPLEX wasn't just for use with color services and could be used for anyone in need of hair repair, Henson tried out the brand for herself and shares she was impressed with the results.
"I instantly fell in love with the stand-alone treatment! I loved what it did for my curls, and I was hooked. After that, I began using OLAPLEX on most of my clients," Henson says. "The OLAPLEX No.4C Bond Maintenance Clarifying Shampoo is an essential part of my kit for removing product build-up and providing a great reset for the hair. The new No.5L Moisturize & Mend Leave-In Conditioner has quickly become my go-to for reviving my clients' curls, leaving them softer, more hydrated and healthier-looking. The No.10 Bond Shaper Curl Defining Gel is now my favorite for fine to medium hair textures, offering a medium hold while reducing frizz. The OLAPLEX No.9 Bond Protector Nourishing Hair Serum works wonders for refreshing next-day curls, and the shine achieved with OLAPLEX No.7 Bonding Oil on curls is simply brilliant."
Putting OLAPLEX's Revolutionary Technology to Action
OLAPLEX has been a pioneer in the hair industry for a decade, and that's not stopping anytime soon. The brand recently launched its patented Bond Shaping Technology with the new 3-step Bond Shaper Curl Rebuilding Treatment to directly serve the full range of curl types and textures, from wavy (2a-2c) to curly (3a-3c) and coily (4a-4c). Of course, the Pro Collective has been working with the newest launch.
"I like to call the Olaplex Bond Shaper the 'curl healer' because it literally brings my client’s curls back to life," shares Jessica Powers, who specializes in creative color and is known for her education, coaching and mentoring. "Offering this curl healing service with the take home has elevated my services and experience for my guests, and they love that they are going to someone who cares and wants to nurture their curls."
Spencer says that she's newer to the world of curly hair but is impressed by the results of the treatment. "The shine, the definition and the lack of frizz seem to be my clients' favorite results," she adds. "I am talking to all of them and explaining the benefits. My curly clients are ALWAYS game for a product or treatment that will help their waves, curls and coils."
Rebber reveals that one of her favorite moments since joining the Collective was assisting OLAPLEX with introducing the new launch at the Bronner Brothers Hair Convention in New Orleans.
"I met Mrs. Stephanie Bronner and introduced her to the team! We were able to pull her aside from the crowd and had a nice chat with her personally about OLAPLEX and the new Bond Shaper service," she recalls. "OLAPLEX creates bonds in more ways than the obvious!"
Community Over Competition
As the hair industry has grown and evolved over the years, there's been a shift in how beauty professionals view the industry, prioritizing community over competition. Seasoned veterans are uplifting the next generation of pros by sharing their knowledge, advice and insight in whatever ways they can. Professional teams like OLAPLEX's Pro Collective are also embracing this initiative by generating a community of stylists from all different walks of life who share a love and passion for the industry.
"The hair industry has always been known to be a catty and competitive world, but I LOVE that that has been changing for the better over the years. There are plenty of clients, love and support to go around, and you can really feel that within the OLAPLEX Pro Collective," Geyer says. "The artists within the Pro Collective are all about supporting, caring and sharing knowledge with ANYONE. I think making anyone — no matter who they are — feel seen, heard and supported is the most important and powerful thing a person can do."
"I think the OLAPLEX Pro Collective sends a message that it takes a team to make our world go around," Powers adds. "It’s not just one person — We all have our strengths and weaknesses, and that is what makes us unique but also united together at the same time."
Communities like this set a precedent for the industry to encourage more collaboration as well as inspire new and upcoming beauty pros by seeing a diverse group of individuals representing a prestigious, innovative hair brand. Lopez emphasizes the importance of this saying, "I think we all represent different sides of the hair industry, so being able to connect with all kinds of people is powerful. I think the Collective helps to inspire our youth and whoever is wanting to get into our industry. I believe you can make it, and if you work hard, nothing can stop you."
With community comes connection, a powerful tool that helps elevate the industry. Whether it be through engaging with a pro on social media or chatting at an event, the industry is more interconnected than ever before. There's plenty of tools and resources for pros to share their successes and failures as well as the techniques that define their artistry. In this way, the industry is becoming more transparent, creating a community that learns from each other, something Nora Dababneh, best known for her color transformations, highlights.
"Being in the new OLAPLEX Pro Collective team and generating a community of likeminded stylists is so important to have in the industry," she says. "It allows stylists from all over to connect with the transparency this team has to offer."
Making an Impact
In recent years, the industry has taken steps to become more innovative, with new products, tools and education becoming readily available to service all hair types and textures. OLAPLEX has been the front-runner at making a lasting-impact in the industry through its game changing technology and products. The Collective also hopes to make an impact on the industry, both as a united group and independently with their own goals and initiatives.
"I think The Collective has a major impact on the hair industry as a whole because we are each different in our own ways and come from all over the world. To see that an amazing brand such as OLAPLEX can bring us all together on one accord is amazing! We all understand and want to continue to better understand the technology of hair in order to help the industry," Rebber shares.
Geyer further elaborates on what the Collective is going to bring to the industry: "I think the Collective is going to bring a lot more kindness, realness and support to this industry for sure. This group of artists are purely in it to help the hair world thrive. We see every single artist, whether you’re on socials or not. We know your struggles, we hear you and we want to give you a voice. We want to help YOU grow and thrive in the best way possible. We do this for YOU," she says. "That is the impact I hope to make. I want to help every single artist, big and small, feel seen and heard. I want everyone to feel safe and supported. I want them to know that by coming to any of us within the OLAPLEX Pro Collective, they will be welcomed with open arms, a kind voice and a listening ear."
As a curl specialist, Henson aims to educate on how OLAPLEX products help care for curls, saying, "I want to help stylists understand that learning new techniques and staying informed about how OLAPLEX products work well with curls is essential for both their skills and their business. This profession is challenging and to succeed, it’s important to stay updated on how to use new products effectively. You can’t rely on doing the same thing year after year, so keeping up with industry trends is crucial to avoid falling behind. My goal is to inspire stylists to embrace change, continue growing and remain passionate and successful in the beauty industry."
Dababneh who is a salon owner and works behind the chair want to help other stylists feel comfortable being multifaceted.
"The impact I hope to make is to share how you can be a successful business owner and behind the chair stylist at the same time. You don’t have to choose one or the other. There’s room to be both. Many people are scared of being business owners because they don’t think they’ll be good enough to do it, and I want to share impactful ways of fulfilling both title," she shares.
What To Expect for 2025
While the Pro Collective was officially announced in July 2025, the team met for the first time in June to celebrate OLAPLEX's 10-year anniversary at 1 Hotel in West Hollywood, California. Many of the collective members told us that this event was one of their favorite moments since they've joined the team.
"Our event in LA was amazing, sitting around the table and brain storming with Amanda Baldwin, the OLAPLEX CEO, and the other team members. I’ve loved creating specific content to help with launches. I enjoy getting to correct mis-information and sharing the proper technology and techniques," Spencer shares.
While 2024 was a big year for OLAPLEX, the Collective is looking forward to everything that they have in store for 2025. So, what can we expect?
"Fellow hair stylists and professionals can look forward to the OLAPLEX Pro Collective staying on top of innovation in the hair industry, breaking barriers and putting out the best OLAPLEX education in 2025," Rebber exclaims.
"They can expect more tips and techniques, in-salon visits from our Pro Collective members with educational classes to demonstrate how to use the latest OLAPLEX products and plenty of inspiration to keep their skills sharp and their clients happy," Henson adds.
Outside of events and education, Lopez emphasizes what traits and attributes the Collective will be bringing to the industry, saying pros can look forward to "diversity, creativity, relatability and deeper community connections."
"I’m so excited for what we have in store for all of you in 2025," Powers teases.
