Strolling through an art museum can be just as inspiring for hairstylists as keeping up with the latest runway trends. Botticelli waves, recently coined by hairstylist Tom Smith, give a nod to Renaissance painter Sandro Botticelli’s ethereal paintings, including the “The birth of Venus” painted in approximately 1484. More than 500 years later, Venus is making waves (no pun intended) on red carpets and social media.
