A stovetop in Colorado and two roommates tired of harmful hair products are unlikely yet perfect ingredients behind the intentional, clean new haircare brand, Highland.  The brand has already made a considerable mark on the industry through forging intentional partnerships with barbershops and salons globally. 

What is Highland?

Highland was founded in 2021 by best friends Boone Whiteside and Ben Medalie, who shared a common ideology: styling products shouldn't force people to choose between performance, health-conscious ingredients, and sustainability. 

Highland prides itself on curating formulas designed to improve hair and scalp health over time, no matter the hair type or routine. To achieve this, Highland takes a modern approach to its product line, ensuring that products are easy to use and inclusive.

  • The Wash: a pH-balanced cleanser formulated with science-baked botanicals and proteins to hydrate, detoxify, and support healthier hair growth

Alongside Highland's product elevation,  a major focus of the brand is to build meaningful partnerships with salons and barbershops across the globe.

These relationships have emerged organically through partners interested in introducing non-toxic products to their clients. Highlands participation in trade shows in previous years, along with partnerships from industry leaders, has also helped the brand expand its reach.
