The holidays are here, and with them an intense amount of joy...and stress.

Booked business coupled with holiday shopping and family pressures can surely send you into a tizzy if you are not careful. The holidays are a very important time to take care of yourself. Take it from someone who spent the better part of a decade in the spa industry, an ounce of prevention will help you be a better you. Included here are some of my favorite items to help you take care of yourself and bring more zen in your salon.

1. ZAQ Allay Aromatherapy Ultrasonic Essential Oil Diffuser

If your method of scenting your space is candles, wax or room spray, consider essential oil diffusion. Not only does it scent your space in the cleanest, most beautiful way, but studies have proven the health and wellbeing effects of essential oils on humans. Though there are a number of great diffusers on the market, I bought this diffuser by ZAQ many moons ago, and it is still going strong. https://zaq.com

2. Essential Oils

I would be remiss if I didn’t add some of my favorite essential oil brands and scents for you to fill your space. Essential oils are largely personal based on what you like and what your health/mood needs are, but there are so many great options. Just make sure you do your research and buy from a quality essential oil manufacturer; those produced cheaply and irresponsibly will not have the intended effects or last as long. My favorite cold weather oils are Peppermint Sticks by KM Herbals, Hug in A Bottle By Eve Taylor and Forest Therapy from Aromatherapy Associates. https://kmherbals.com, https://evetaylornorthamerica.com, https://www.aromatherapyassociates.com.

3. Farmhouse Fresh Cool Revival Body Balm

Being on the move all day during services can certainly wreak havok on your body. While join pain is common during those busy days, a CBD balm can provide you with some relief when you do have to keep on trucking. This balm combines CBD, blue matcha and spearmint to help relieve local pain, cool and relax tired muscles. It also doesn’t smell like you have a body full of pain cream—a win-win. farmhousefreshgoods.com

4. Saltability Salt Lamp

Himalayan salt is so good for the human body. When ingested, its numberous minerals are said to replenish the human body. It can also be used on the body for detoxification and anti-inflammatory benefits, but its use in a lamp can provide these same detoxification effects to your air, and you don’t have to do a thing but plug it in. www.saltability.com

5. Essence Nasal Diffusers

I am a huge proponent in the mood-boosting effects of aromatherapy, so imagine my surprise when I discovered that someone invented wearable aromatherapy! Essence has created Nasal Diffusers, which come in a variety of different essential oil scents for certain benefits. For example, the eucalyptus can aid with congestion, whereas lavender can help with relaxation. They are also reusable up to to 30 times when you add essential oil to the sachet. https://essencering.com

6. Pure Inventions Water Infusion Drops Antioxidant Super Fruits

We all know we need to drink water, but what if you could get more out of water than just the hydration? A no-brainer, right? These drops are offered in a variety of combinations for health and wellbeing benefits. The Antioxidant Super Fruit collection adds both a delicious flavor and an antioxidant power punch to plain old water for immune boosting benefits. I am a big fan of the Cranberry + Elderberry Option, but the Blueberry + White Tea is a close second. https://pureinventions.com
