1. Childhood

When I think of inspiration and what inspires me, it always goes back to my childhood, family or my own immigration story moving to the United States.

2. Discipline

I like to think ahead, fix goals and achieve them. I love reading about people who made it big while fighting against the odds, so that is inspirational to me.

3. My Dad 'If I can inspire one person and help them to see how capable they can be using a different perspective, I will be inspired as well.'"If I can inspire one person and help them to see how capable they can be using a different perspective, I will be inspired as well."Courtesy of Leysa Carrillo

My dad grew up in the second generation of freed slaves in my family on the island of Cuba. He had no shoes to go to school, and he had to walk five miles every day to get an education. He ended up being a lawyer.

My dad’s effort and legacy will always live by my side. If he did big things with less opportunities than me today, I’m capable of doing anything.

4. Making A Difference

Changing particular things in the world is hard, but I have a strong desire to help make a difference in the beauty industry. I want to add value with education from the biggest stages to the underprivileged. If I can inspire one person and help them to see how capable they can be using a different perspective, I will be inspired as well.

5. Joy

I believe inspiration is everywhere, if we look for it. It’s always good to take the time to look for things that resonate with us to bring the joy to our heart. Personally, this is another way to show gratitude and to practice mindfulness.
