This is SO not just another blog entry. Why, you ask? Because I am typing from my laptop in PARIS, here for Goldwell's annual Color Zoom Challenge! These past few days have been quite a whirlwind, but to quickly recap: Saturday: I arrived in Paris, just in time for Goldwell's North America Welcome Party, where I got to meet with company VIPs like Mario Argenti and star stylists including John Simpson and Dimitrios Tsioumas. Sunday: The all-day competitions for the New Talent, Creative and Partner categories were held at the Halle De Freyssinet--all the artists created inspiring color designs that drew upon Goldwell's 2010 Just Naked collection! Following the competitions, I was thrilled to attend the Titanium Dinner (held in honor of Goldwell's top salons), which was followed by a huge welcome party at the Pavillon Baltard. Monday: After sipping champagne at a VIP reception, I--along with thousands of other attendees from all across the globe--was whisked away to the Color Zoom Awards Ceremony. After an absolutely breathtaking runway show, the winners for each category were at last revealed! Congrats to all the victors: New Talent: Luo Wan Jen, Taiwan; Creative: Neil Barton, UK; Partner: Marcela Blechova, Czech Republic. (Psst: Goldwell also revealed a sneak peek of its upcoming 2011 collection, "Play Strong." The looks are fierce and feminine...Can't wait for you to see them!) Tuesday (today): I witnessed top Goldwell artists display their latest coloring and cutting techniques to a room filled with hundreds of passionate Goldwell-ites, and I'll be leaving shortly to attend a North American Group Dinner at Montmartre. As you can see, it's been quite a busy--and beautiful--past few days! I am departing Paris tomorrow with so many wonderful memories made with friends, both old and new, at Goldwell, and cannot wait to share all the details and fabulous photos with you in our upcoming issue!
