The Hair Highlights—LIterally—of the Golden Globes

Celebrities Sign Charity Car At 67th Annual Golden Globe Awards

While the nominated actresses and actors who attended the Golden Globes had a certain color on their minds (um...GOLD!), color of a different kind had hair afficianados doing double takes: accent highlights. Winner Sandra Bullock took the gold and sported coppery gold highlights, while Mad Men winner Christina Hendricks accented her fiery locks with copper as well. "Accent highlights are a great way to update haircolor," shares Lisa Grealish, color specialist at patrick mcivor color studio. "They're a minimum commitment for clients. And because the color tone can be changed with the seasons, they make for a fun beauty accent."

Of these low-maintenance beautifiers, Grealish says, "All of these beautiful colors that the ladies sported can be achieved by giving a few accent highlights every three months, along with base color. The colors can be refreshed with a glaze int he months between highlights. This trend is all about the placement of the accent and choosing complimentary tonal colors."
