Celebrity makeup artist Zena Shteysel designed the Z Palette to be the  “ultimate customizable makeup palette.” Gone are the days of having piles and cases of products. Z Palette, the customizable magnetic empty makeup palette, is an exclusive universal case with an open magnetic bottom to fit the color pans you want, and none of the ones you don’t. Customize it to fit your needs and be eco-friendly by reducing packaging. The clear window also allows you to see what’s inside without any fuss.

Check out these tips from Zena Shteysel, 2 Time Emmy Award winning Dancing with the Stars Head of Makeup and inventor of the Z Palette:

The magic to makeup on the show is staying power!

We love Stila Stay All Day Foundation — we’re looking for those products that can maintain through rehearsal and the live show, without a lot of maintenance and touching up. Stila also has long wearing lip colors that we love. We also use the Z Palette to organize our makeup and make it easy to do quick touches on set.

How real women can avoid caking on makeup with frequent touch ups to combat shine.

Instead of constantly reaching for a powder, try using blotting papers. Also, several companies have come out with anti-shine compacts that provide the matte look minus the powder.

Getting that ballroom bronze!

Tanning is part of the ballroom grooming process. The dancers are wearing barely-there costumes so they really love to be tan, as it hides imperfections and gives a healthy glow. We don’t like them to look orange! We try to keep it very natural. South Seas Skin Care is really amazing, and we can layer it. We use their Tahitian bronzer for spray tanning as well as their Island Body Glow for body shimmer to make the skin look luminous and sexy.

Behind-the-scenes process of creating a look!

A few days before the show, I will receive a breakdown of what the cast will be wearing, the color scheme, the type of dance, and also the music. This helps to create an idea for their look. However, it isn't until Monday morning before the live show that the Key Makeup Artist and I visit the wardrobe department to see the actual wardrobe. This can often change the idea we are creating. We take lots of costume photos and discuss with the rest of the makeup dept the ideas for each person's look. The basic idea is helpful to collaborate with the pro dancer to tell the story behind the dance.
