It’s officially the holiday season, the perfect time to do a little something special for your clients to make the season festive and their services merry. Patrick McIvor, Artistic & Technicultural Director for Goldwell and KMS California, suggests offering a cozy seasonal beverage like hot mulled cider or cocoa. “This is something that costs almost nothing, yet makes a huge statement,” he says.
Jesse Marcks, owner and color specialist at Au Fait Salon in Madison, WI and Goldwell® Hair Care Artistic Team Member makes the best of her small salon and limited space by using a compact Keurig machine with a water attachment. To give her clients options, she offers hot caramel apple cider with a cinnamon stick and caramel drizzle, hot cocoa with marshmallows, and hot blueberry, pomegranate or mint green tea with a sugar butter cookie. By buying cider and cocoa packets and tea bags in bulk, she is able to offer delicious beverages to her clients, affordably. Bold, artistic mugs create a warm, inviting presentation.
“The cost is really minimal, clients love it and the salon smells amazing! One of my clients even took picture and posted about a mug of hot caramel cider - a little effort goes a long way,” says Marcks.
Michelle Lloyd Parks from Core Salon in Randolph, NJ uses a crock-pot to keep apple cider brewing with fresh sliced fruit. Says Parks, “Guests are loving our hot spiced cider! Great idea! We put the cinnamon sticks and cloves in it and also added fresh oranges and apples!”
“Get people talking about your salon this season by adding some cheer. With very little effort, you can bring a sparkle to both your staff and clients,” adds McIvor.
