You’d never peg women who slip into Lanvin pieces as conformists. Designer Alber Elbaz’s esthetic—molded, architectural silhouettes and complex ornamentation—marks wearers as fashion mavericks rather than followers. Yet, for the fall 2010 Lanvin collection, Elbaz told Redken creative consultant Guido to transform each model into a comely clone who appears to have been churned off the selfsame beauty assembly line that the designer says he witnessed on his recent jaunts around the world.
