Sure, the word “style” is literally in their job title, but when it comes to personal aesthetic (read: clothes, makeup, tattoos, etc.) hairstylists bring the heat just as much as they do when transforming a client that lands in their chair. In the inaugural My Style column, which will spotlight one beauty pro with killer personal style, Beauty Launchpad caught up with Emily Imhoff (@memmieyo), stylist aT Phan Haus Salon in Scottsdale, Arizona, host of The Bald B$tch podcast and one of our recent 30 Under 30 winners.
Beauty Launchpad (BLP): What three words would you use to describe your personal style?
Emily Imhoff (EI): I would describe my style as sexy, cool and confident.
BLP: How has your style changed over the years?
EI: I’ve always loved expressing myself through what I wear, but I would say I’ve grown more comfortable with who I am and it shows through my style.
BLP: Is there an article of clothing/piece of jewelry that has a lot of meaning to you? Why?
EI: I don’t have any single item, but whenever I’m wearing my layered chains and Jordans I feel like a BO$$.
BLP: What is the best piece of fashion/beauty advice you have ever received?
EI: “As long as you are confident in what you’re wearing and how you look, you can pull anything off” –my mom.
BLP: Who is your style icon?
EI: I am currently obsessing over @diln_ on Instagram. Her style and shoe game are unbelievable. Cool and casual.
