How-To: Margot Robbie and Brie Larson's Blonde Hair for the 2024 Golden Globes

Celebrity hair colorist Jacob Schwartz created the blonde bombshell hair colors for Brie Larson and Margot Robbie for the 2024 Golden Globes. 

Larson was nominated for Actress in a Mini-series or Motion Picture for TV for "Lessons in Chemistry." Robbie was nominated for Actress in a Musical or Comedy Motion Picture for "Barbie," although she did accept the inaugural Cinematic and Box Office Achievement Award for said film alongside director Greta Gerwig as one of the film's executive producers. 

Larson walked the carpet in a lavender Prada gown that featured an a-line silhouette with a sweetheart neckline. Robbie took inspiration from 1977 Superstar Barbie, wearing a custom Giorgio Armani Privé hot pink sequined gown along with a pink tulle boa. 

While Larson and Robbie sported different outfits, Schwartz (@jacobschwartzhair) used the same technique to create their hair color for the night. 

"When working with both Margot and with Brie I always use my 'Spun with gold' technique and have mostly drawn my inspiration from Botticelli in its conjuring of a gilded, backlit effect to the hair in real life; an overall solid but dimensional highlighting to the hair. Emphasizing light, movement and dimension, the technique is achieved by using a balance of fine highlights woven throughout the hair. It’s natural, yet almost too good to be true — an elevated version of your natural hair color or what you would dream of your natural color to be," Schwartz shares. "Brie's hair this year was a lighter sunlit blonde compared to Margot, but both [were] inspired by this."

1. Fine Highlights with BLONDME Lightener 9+ and BLONDME Premium Developer 7 Vol & 20 Vol. 1:1:1
2. Balayage ends with BLONDME Premium Lightener 9+ and BLONDME Premium Developer 30 Vol. 1:2
3. On damp hair, apply IGORA VIBRANCE 7-0 + 8-11 + IGORA VIBRANCE Activator Gel 6 volume for 10 minutes 1:1:2
4. The last 3 minutes, apply IGORA VIBRANCE 9-0 + 8-0 + Vibrance activator 6 volume 1:1:2
5. Lift up the ends, and rinse, shampoo and condition. 

Margot Robbie How-To: 

1. Fine highlights with BLONDME Premium Lightener 9+ & BLONDME Premium Developer 10 Vol + ¼ oz Olaplex. 1:2
2. Balayage ends with BLONDME Premium Lightener 9+ & BLONDME Premium Developer 30 Vol + ¼ oz Olaplex. 1:2
3. Rinse highlights apply Olaplex #2 as a stand alone treatment for 10 minutes.
4. On damp hair, apply IGORA VIBRANCE 7-0 + IGORA VIBRANCE activator gel 6 volume 1:1 on the roots for 10 minutes total.
5. Zone 2 (Middle section) apply IGORA VIBRANCE 9-0+9-4+8-46 + IGORA VIBRANCE activator gel 6 Volume 1:1:1:3 for the last 5 minutes.
6. Around the hairline, apply IGORA VIBRANCE 9-0 + 9-1 + IGORA VIBRANCE activator gel 6 volume 1:1:2
7. The last 3 minutes, lift up the ends and rinse, shampoo and condition.
