The Inspiration: The movies Interview with a Vampire and Bram Stoker’s Dracula. “I looked at the movie Dracula starring Gary Oldman, and he had this double roll in the back,” says Gray. “I wanted to find a way to make it modern. The best way to do that was to bring it closer to the head—more compact and a little more accessible [so] people could find it aspirational and actually wear it.”
The Hero Products: NuMe Clean N’ Mean Dry Shampoo and Freeze Please Finishing Spray. “We’re using Freeze Please for its adhesive qualities. It actually is working to suck in the dry shampoo so that it doesn’t just float away into the air,” says Gray, adding, “I’m using the dry shampoo as a finishing agent. It gives the hair a soft, dusty feel that’s very Victorian.”
