The Lead Stylist: Rodney Cutler for Cutler x Redken
The Inspiration: “Nicole told me, ‘I don't want everyone to look the same, or for there to be some big [hair] theme. I want it to be a mishmash of texture and coolness,’” says Cutler. “I’m calling this look ‘winter waves’—like how in the winter your waves are flatter because of a lack of humidity.”
The Hero Product: Redken Wax Blast 10. After waving the hair with a 1¼-inch curling iron, Cutler sprays the wax onto the mid-lengths and ends, and then pulls apart the bends with his fingers. “Wax Blast gives the waves the separation that we need,” Cutler explains, adding, “If we used a brush, [the waves] would be too fluffy.” —Karie L.
