Mark Woolley, a multi-award-winning UK hairstylist and rising visual artist, proudly announces the release of his latest artwork “Legends of American Hairdressing.” His stunning piece celebrates over 200 of the most influential hairstylists shaping the U.S. beauty industry today. Following the immense success of his 2022 “Legends of British Hairdressing” series, Woolley continues his artistic journey by honoring the creativity and legacy of American hairstylists.
“Legends of American Hairdressing” features well-known figures such as Jack Howard, Michele O'Connor, Sam Villa, Antoinette Beenders, Robert Lobetta, Tabatha Coffey, Candy Shaw, Vivienne Mackinder, John Paul DeJoria, Van Council and many more. This artwork serves as a tribute to US hairdressing icons, who have made significant contributions to the evolution of modern hairdressing. Each figure has been meticulously curated and immortalized, highlighting the skill, passion and artistry that define this vibrant industry.
To celebrate the release, the artwork made its debut at a launch event in New York in September, and another upcoming celebration will be hosted at Soho House in Los Angeles on November 13th, 2024. Throughout the year, the artwork will be showcased at key industry events. Additionally, Woolley will auction the original framed artwork, with proceeds benefiting Centrepoint, a UK charity dedicated to supporting homeless youth, particularly those aspiring to careers in hairstyling and the culinary arts.
Hand-finished and published by the esteemed UK art publisher Harwood King, the limited-edition print is now available for purchase. Only a select number of prints have been produced, allowing both fans and professionals the chance to own a piece of history. The prints are priced at $665.
