This stunning collection pays homage to the timeless elegance and artistry of classic hairdressing, seamlessly blending modern sensibilities with a bold, larger-than-life aesthetic. Poise draws inspiration from the iconic looks of 90s supermodels, the surreal doll-like aesthetics recently seen on high-fashion runways and the nostalgic yet modern vibes of contemporary cinema. Each model in the collection exudes confidence and poise, enhanced by the structural beauty of their hair and the striking monochromatic photography. Using classic hairdressing techniques reimagined for a modern audience, Allen features voluminous waves, meticulously crafted updos and avant-garde silhouettes that provide a fresh take on fashion's most iconic periods.

"My aim with Poise was to create a collection that not only showcases the artistry and skill involved in hairstyling but also tells a story of strength and elegance through each look," says Ruiz. "The decision to shoot in black and white was inspired by the legendary works of Herb Ritts and Peter Lindbergh, who masterfully captured the essence of their subjects through stark contrasts and evocative imagery."

To achieve the voluminous shapes that define Hair by Allen Ruiz, Photography by Lauren Krystithe Poise collection, Allen relied on Aveda’s high-performing vegan styling products. The weightless hold of Air Control and the firm finish of Control Force were essential for maintaining the intricate styles. Shampowder dry shampoo added texture and lift, while Volumizing Tonic and Thickening Tonic provided the foundational body and fullness. For an extra boost, Pure Abundance was used to create the ultimate voluminous effect, ensuring each look was both dynamic and enduring.
