Goldwell is proud to have served as the hair team sponsor for Global Fashion Collective at its ten New York Fashion Week shows. Global Fashion Collective provides a platform for emerging and established designers to showcase their creations globally.

Goldwell National Artist Odete DaSilva (@odetedasilvahair) led a team of stylists to create curated looks for each of their fall/winter shows in New York. The Goldwell-sponsored team created runway-worthy styles that ranged from minimal low ponies to Hollywood glam waves and sleek braids.

“This collaboration among Kao Salon Division, Goldwell and Global Fashion Collective brought the most innovative hair trends to the runways at Fashion Week to complement the innovative designs,” says Andrea DeLeon, General Manager of Kao Salon Division U.S. “The thoughtful creativity of Odete and her team gave each designer something special.”

According to DaSilva, the overall inspiration for the looks was Hollywood glam waves, worn either as a wet look with structure or dry with softer horizontal waves. That overarching inspiration was then customized for each designer.

“Our go-to product for these glam looks was definitely StyleSign Shine Spray,” she notes. “StyleSign Lagoom Jam and StyleSign Bodifying Control Mousse were also essential to creating the wet and structured styles featured at the shows.”

The Goldwell team created unique hairstyles to accompany the looks of ten up-and-coming designers.

“We were focused on creating different looks for each designer so nothing would look the same, and everyone loved the results,” adds DaSilva. “The key to creating so many looks in such a short time was planning. We trained to ensure the team could work seamlessly backstage and did a lot of pre-planning with the designers, but we also had to be flexible to adapt styles last-minute for the final fashion looks on the day of the show.”
