The Big Grow Out

Spring has sprung, it’s the season to grow those brows out!  Believe it or not, there are still some who haven’t realized that natural, fuller, bolder brows are where it’s at, so this one is for them!  Boom Boom, owner of Boom Boom Brow Bar (NYC), gives tips on how to transform a person’s face and add a seasonal bang with polished brows. She is also teaching a class to the pros at the International Beauty Show in New York!

Length: The space between brows should be equal to or a little wider than eyes. Take a long eye shadow brush or pencil and hold it parallel to the side of the nose. Where the brush meets the brow is where brows should begin. Extend the brush diagonally from nostril, following the outside edge of the eye toward the brow, where the inside edge of the brush hits is where brow should end. If they are too short, grow them out!

Width: Work with natural width, just clean up strays along the top and bottom. If brows are too thin, grow them out!  Apply castor oil every night to help speed up the growth process - it’s one of the active ingredients in most brow and lash products.

Arch: Hold a brush parallel to the outside edge of the colored part of the eye (the iris). Where the brush meets the brow is where the highest part of the brow should be. If that’s not the case, grow them out!

Color: Tinting brows can make them look thicker, go a little bolder and match color to skin and hair undertones. Using a brow powder on a daily basis is also a good way to add definition and boldness.

Who is this Boom Boom?
Malynda Vigliotti (aka Boom Boom) is a self-proclaimed eyebrow queen and apparently the flashiest waxer in town.  Educated at The Fashion Institute of Technology, she has worked in the fashion and beauty trenches long enough to be an expert. She’s obsessed with brows, does over 500 a month (17,000 in 2011) at Boom Boom Brow Bar in NYC, and sees no reason why everyone shouldn’t have thick, gorgeous eyebrows.  After all, they are the most important feature on the face.  Boom Boom knows there's no such thing as natural beauty, but she does believe a perfectly done brow is an instant eyelift – no Botox necessary!  Book online at www.boomboombrowbar.com.
