Emmy Award—winning actress Patricia Clarkson hosted the Hale House 2013 Spring Gala, held Wednesday, April 3, at The Mandarin Oriental Hotel in New York City. Clarkson and Hale House co-chairs Alexandra Lebenthal, Frederick Anderson and Janice Innis-Thompson welcomed over 200 guests, including celebrity hairstylists Ted Gibson and Jason Backe, Nicole Miller, David Lauren, Barbara Winston, Lydia Fenet, Jean Shafiroff, Gillian and Sylvester Miniter to the gala.
Hale House delivers child-centered, family-focused programs that are responsive to the unique circumstances of each family they serve and the evolving social needs within the Harlem community and beyond.
Hale House Chairman of the Board, Zachary Carter Esq. and Executive Director Annie Murphy congratulated this year’s honorees, philanthropist Sharon Bush and Executive Vice President-Firm Process Improvement at JPMorgan Chase, Christine Larsen, for their tireless dedication to the cause. Lauren Bush Lauren, Ashley and Pierce Bush presented their mother with the Mother Hale Award for Mothers Who Make a Difference and Larsen received the Mother Hale Award for caring from Hale House Board of Directors member Neil H. Wilcox.
Centerpieces filled with cherry blossoms sprung from every table in the ballroom and supporters including Dominic Freud, Tracy Stern, Chele Chiavacci, Ted Gibson, Jason Backe, Consuelo Vanderbilt Costin, Yaz and Valentine Hernandez took to the dance floor after closing remarks to mingle and dance the night away. Gibson donated his time for a consult, cut and styling of Gigi Rosas, a recipient of Hale House's charitable housing services.
