Dean Banowetz Helps Crown Miss Idaho 2012

After two days of judging, InStyler Professional’s Dean Banowetz helped to crown Whitney Wood, as Miss Idaho 2012 on June 9. The event, which included 20 contestants, was held at Swayne Auditorium on the campus of Northwest Nazarene University in Nampa, Idaho. The Miss Idaho pageant is part of the Miss America organization, which is the world's largest provider of scholarship assistance to young women. Ms. Wood will now go on the compete in the Miss America pageant in January 2013.

Banowetz, who also serves as a judge for the North American Hairstyling Awards (NAHA), is no stranger to pageants. He has judged Miss Iowa, Miss Maine, Miss Kona Coffee and Miss Aloha Hawaii in the past and not only does he love it, he also takes pageant judging very seriously. “I am very aware that I am giving someone what could be a life-changing opportunity for them,” says Banowetz. “Through judging, I get to meet some very talented and intelligent young ladies who make a point to contribute to their communities. It’s very inspiring!”
