Celebrity hairstylist Kylee Heath recently worked with Ashley Benson for the H&M x Balmain VIP Pre-Launch on Wednesday, November 4 in West Hollywood, CA. "Ashley showed [makeup artist Lauren Andersen] and me her outfit, and I immediately thought I wanted to do a chic top bun; not a knot – a loop bun. Her outfit was so retro, so I wanted the look to be modern but fun," says Heath. Recreate the look with Heath's how-to below!

  1. "Starting with damp hair, I blew her hair out with a boar-bristle brush for volume and shine. Then, I created a section from the arch of each eyebrow back to the crown of her head. I applied KEVIN.MURPHY Powder Puff to the roots and lightly teased the 'Mohawk' section. I then gently combed it back and secured it into a little ponytail with an elastic.
  2.  "Then, with Paul Mitchell Hot off The Press Thermal Protection Hairspray, I created texture using a 1-inch curling iron. I wrapped some sections around the wand, and then traditionally loosely curled some small sections (leaving out the ends). Once the texture was set, I sprayed the hair with Matrix Texture Builder Messy Finish Spray and then went through the ends with a 1 1/4-inch iron. I did this because I wanted the texture to look undone, but wanted the ends to be polished but imperfect.
  3.  "Then, I used another elastic to loop the top into a simple bun and applied two bobby pins to keep it where I wanted it. I finished the look with R+Co Outer Space Flexible Hairspray."
