We asked Genevieve Caspillo to share how she uses IGORA VIBRANCE to transform a balayage ombré with a lack of blend and chunky brassy orange tones to a “Thick ‘N Cool Cascade” color.

Genevieve Caspillo (@houseofgen), salon owner and hairstylist at Titanium Studios in Vancouver BC Canada, turns to Schwarzkopf Professional IGORA VIBRANCE for its speed and color results. We all want more options when it comes to color. After all, clients are continually demanding different and sometimes challenging looks. That’s why Schwarzkopf Professional IGORA VIBRANCE demi-permanent hair color is a perfect solution. Not only does the demi-permanent liquid color turn into a cream or gel consistency for even more service options than a traditional color, “the gel gets the toner through the hair faster and gives a more even application,” shares Caspillo. What’s more, the state-of-the-art moisturizing hair color is true to tone. Caspillo adds, “What you see is really what you get. It’s much more predictable, and formulating can't be any easier. I've used a few different toner lines in the past, and it was hit and miss on whether it was too much color or seemed like it didn't do anything at all.” We asked Caspillo to share how she uses IGORA VIBRANCE to transform a balayage ombré with a lack of blend and chunky brassy orange tones to a “Thick ‘N Cool Cascade” color here:

FORMULAS:
Formula 1: BLONDME Bond Enforcing Premium Lightener 9+ + BLONDME Premium Developer 2% (7 Vol.) 1:2.5
Formula 2: BLONDME Bond Enforcing Premium Lightener 9+ + BLONDME Premium Developer 6% (20 Vol.); 1:2.5
Formula 3: BLONDME Bond Enforcing Premium Lightener 9+ + BLONDME Premium Developer 9% (30 Vol.); 1:2.5
Formula 4: IGORA VIBRANCE 5-1 + IGORA VIBRANCE GEL ACTIVATOR 1.9% (6 vol); 1:1
Formula 5: IGORA VIBRANCE 45g 9-1 + 15g 8-11 + 60g IGORA VIBRANCE GEL ACTIVATOR 1.9% (6 vol)
STEP BY STEP:
Step 1: Starting at the nape and working up to the ears, lighten with heavy back-to-back babylights using Formula 1. Note: For any color correction, be sure to leave out lighter pieces to avoid over processing previously lightened hair.
Step 2: When the bowl is finished, apply Formula 2 to the middle of the back section to the crown.
Step 3: When that bowl is finished, apply Formula 3 above the ears to temple and repeat on the other side. Process for 45 minutes and remove all foils at once.
Step 4: Shampoo with BLONDME Tone Enhancing Bonding Shampoo, Cool Blondes and towel dry before applying Formula 4 to the root and process for 5-10 minutes. Tip: When doing a root melt on pre-lightened hair, I always use 6 Vol. at the base to deposit only.
Step 5: Apply Formula 5 to the mid-section first to blend with the existing root melt then, work through to the ends. Process for 20 minutes before rinsing and styling.
