Haircolor How To: Indigo Dream by Shonda Broadus

Hairstylist Shonda Broadus recently helped her client achieve this bold, bright blue haircolor. Inspired by rich hues of indigo, violet, and cobalt, the final result is simply stunning. Check out Shonda's how-to so you can recreate the look for your own guest!

Get the Look:
STEP 1: Starting in the back, apply PRAVANA Pure Light and Zero Lift Developer, placing from roots to ends. Apply quickly. "I knew that the zero lift would lighten the new growth enough for me to apply a custom mix," says Shonda. Process and rinse/shampoo. Dry the hair.

STEP 2: Blend Joico Indigo, PRAVANA Vivids Blue, and PRAVANA Violet for root area. Starting in the back, apply the custom mix shade, blending in PRAVANA Violet, a mixture of PRAVANA NEON Blue, PRAVANA Mint, and PRAVANA Blue as well as a custom mix of PRAVANA Clear, PRAVANA PASTEL Blue, and PRAVANA Violet throughout the hair in sections (using Embee Meche to keep each section separate.)
NOTE: She wanted more blue tones and less purple than the inspiration photo.

STEP 3: Process at room temperature for 20 minutes, then rinse and shampoo.
