Hair Color How To: Tie-Dye Inspired Balayage by Shonda Broadus

Tie Dye Braid

Tie-dye hair color may just be one of the hottest trends of the summer, bringing a fresh take to bright rainbow hair. Shonda Broadus shares the tips you need to create the look for your clients. Here's how she gave her client a 1990's tie-dye inspired Balayage:

The roots were her natural level 3 so I balayaged her blonde using Pravana Pure Light Power Lightner and 30 volume she then processed at room temperature for 30 minutes. After shampooing I towel dried her hair and sprayed in the Nevo Intense therapy before blowdrying 100%. I then used Pravana's New Locked In Colors.

Colors Used:
Locked-In Purple
Locked-In Teal
Locked-In Teal mixed with Locked-In Yellow
Locked-In Yellow
Locked in Pink with a dot or Locked-In Red
Locked-In Pink

I put the mix of Locked-In Pink and Locked-In Red about 3 inches down from her roots and painted the rest of the colors on using a chevron design rotating the colors in each section.
