Ecaille, French for tortoise shell, is the latest trending color technique comprised of rich, warm golden tones, caramels, chocolates, mahogany and Tobacco. Worn by celebrities like Chrissy Teigen and Jessica Alba, Ecaille is a sophisticated ombre. Ecaille tends to also be darker at the roots and lighter at the ends and can be painted (balayage) or placed in isolated panels into the hair for a multidimensional effect.
