Stephen Moody has celebrated his 40th industry anniversary while being announced as a first-time North American Hairstylist Awards (NAHA) finalist.

Moody is the Wella Company's North American education director and one of the world's foremost educators of professional hairdressers.

He was nominated in two NAHA categories: Educator of the Year and Haircutting.

Moody started his career as an apprentice in London at Vidal Sassoon in 1980. Moody stayed at the Sassoon Salon and Academy organization for more than 31 years, joining Wella in 2012. Stephen Moody on Stage, Triple CraftStephen Moody on Stage, Triple Craft

Moody leads the development of advanced curriculum, providing stylists the techniques and creative tools to grow their careers at Wella.

2021 was Moody's first time entering NAHA in his 40-year career, stating, "during my time at Sassoon we were not allowed to enter competitions. Instead, I gravitated to teaching, preparing and mentoring hairdressers for competition."

Driven by the words of his friend and industry icon, the late Fabio Sementilli, "Enter or Mentor," Moody knew 2021 was the year to enter. "I had done thirty-five plus years of mentoring," says Moody. "It was my time to finally enter."
