Q&A with Lynn
Beauty Launchpad (BLP): What is a fun fact about you?
Lynn Levesque (LL): I'm a proud mom to my adorable little girl Shih Tzu, Gari, who’s my loyal sidekick and travels with me everywhere. We’re rarely apart, and she brings me so much joy every day.
BLP: How did you get your start in the industry?
LL: I started my career in this industry 24 years ago—an industry I knew from the age of five was my calling. Over the years, I’ve dedicated myself to mastering my craft, continuously learning and growing within this beautiful profession.
BLP: What is your proudest accomplishment/achievement in the industry so far?
LL: One of my proudest accomplishments is having the opportunity to teach at the International Beauty Show, sharing my passion and knowledge with aspiring stylists.
I’ve also had the honor of collaborating with the legendary Ruth Roche, who mentored me in bringing a vision of a stunning hair collection to life.
My work has been recognized in numerous competitions, including the International Beauty Industry Awards and the Texture Style Awards—each milestone fueling my passion.
Honestly, I could go on and on about my journey because I am genuinely grateful for every opportunity, challenge and success along the way.
BLP: What is your current favorite hair trend?
LL: Right now, I’m obsessed with the sleek low bun. I love the clean lines, glossy shine and effortless elegance—it’s a timeless look I can’t get enough of!
BLP: What is a tip you have for your fellow beauty pros who are looking to grow their following on socials?
LL: To those looking to grow your social media presence—just keep posting. Be authentic, stay true to what makes you happy and don’t get caught up in the follower count. Engagement is what truly matters. Focus on creating content you love and sharing your unique style with the world.
BLP: What advice would you give to the younger version of yourself just starting out in the industry, looking back on your whole career?
LL: Looking back, I wish I had explored all possibilities earlier. For 19 years, I worked behind the chair, thinking there was no more to discover. It wasn’t until 2020 that I started actively posting, entering competitions and expanding my horizons. Sometimes I wonder how far I could’ve gone if I’d started sooner, but I believe—it's never too late to pursue your dreams.
BLP: What is a tip/technique you’ve learned that’s helped you be more efficient/successful in your services or business?
LL: Whether working behind the chair, educating, styling weddings or running a salon, always be prepared, punctual and focused. Staying organized and on your A-game will always help you elevate your craft and professionalism.
BLP: Who is someone you consider a mentor/role model in the industry?
LL: I’ve been blessed with incredible mentors who’ve shaped my career and life —Jenny Strebe, Laura Chihaia (Lala’s Updos), Nina Tulio, Ruth Roche and Monae Everett to name a few. Their guidance continues to inspire me every day.
BLP: What is a practice/ritual you have to care for your mental health and set boundaries between your work and personal life?
LL: Balancing personal life and work is an ongoing journey—something I strive to perfect daily. The industry has evolved beautifully, with more sharing, collaboration and support. I love being part of this positive change, sharing my knowledge, especially about styling updos, and inspiring others.
BLP: What is a career goal you have for yourself?
LL: My future plans include continuing to educate and uplift fellow stylists, supporting their growth and pursuing a NAHA—another big dream I’m determined to chase.
