In the Exo-Grow collection is a HLA-G ComplexA, a biomimetically synthesised, human-recognizable exosome sequence is completely free of human components. This advancement in regenerative aesthetics prevents the body from rejecting synthetic exosomes to overcome the “plateauing effect” that occurs with prolonged use.

Exo-Grow–built on the established foundation of Dermapen’s cosmeceutical skincare– harnesses stem cell-derived exosomes to promote follicle regeneration and reduce inflammation, Hughes says. Within the haircare collection is a shampoo and conditioner, alongside a hair mask and hair tonic.
The product’s K-beauty HLA-G ComplexA bioscience technology directly targets follicle regeneration, working in tandem with Dermapen microneedling. Consumers can use the Dermapen home device with the Exo-Grow collection for at-home maintenance.
“From individuals seeking thicker hair to those with alopecia or genetic hair loss, this synergy of science and technology empowers people to restore their hair with confidence,” Hughes said.
HLA-G ComplexA, a biomimetically synthesised, human-recognizable exosome sequence is completely free of human components. This advancement in regenerative aesthetics prevents the body from rejecting synthetic exosomes to overcome the “plateauing effect” that occurs with prolonged use. Exosomes, she explains, work by keeping hair in the growth phase longer.
“During this time, all the growth factors can operate optimally to support hair regeneration,” Hughes added.
The development of Exo-Grow included clinical trials under dermatological supervision that demonstrated improvements in hair density, scalp health and reduced inflammation within 6 to 12 weeks of consistent use.
Much like facial skin, Hughes says the scalp undergoes cumulative damage due to UV and environmental exposure. Targeting oxidative stress and environmental damage is key to restoring balance and promoting healthy hair growth, supported by the product’s technology that reduces inflammation.
With Hughes’ long-standing connections across the global haircare industry, she looks forward to being a part of Dermapen’s expansion into the hair care industry and building this brand. Looking further ahead, she hopes to inspire future product development across other specialist areas of haircare.
“With my background in education and my expertise in branding, marketing and sales, I’m confident in executing an ambitious strategy with outstanding results,” Hughes says. “As we scale, our innovation will expand the Exo-Grow range while retaining our niche focus within the hair loss category.”
