Celebrated hairstylist Charlie Le Mindu recently presented his latest 2015/2016 fall/winter collection, "A Male Gaze," at the famed Crazy Horse cabaret club in Paris, France during Paris Haute Couture Fashion Week. The collection, which features models dressed only in gleaming, silver-white hair and pearls by Hairdreams Hair Extensions, was inspired by the Surrealist "male gaze" artistic movement of the 1920's, with the collection centered around the idea of the gaze as "both an important instrument in communication and also the intellectual 'engine' to anticipate a situation."
"A Male Gaze" was presented during a 30-minute show that featured 5 different acts, separated by Le Mindu video clips and performances from the show's accompanying band, the French Electro-Duo Kap Bambino. Five dancers, including the iconic artist Irina Bouglione, flaunted Le Mindu's avant-garde designs, including sparkling dresses, and extravagant masks, all made from hair.
Hairdreams Hair Extensions created the silver-white, shimmering, real hair and pearls for the show based on Le Mindu's vision for the collection. "This type of hair and exquisite quality is only available from Hairdreams," says Le Mindu. "This is the reason why I've exclusively partnered with Hairdreams since 2010. Thanks to the specialists at Hairdreams and the unparalleled quality of their real hair, I am able to turn my abstract visions to tangible, 'Haute Coiffure' reality."
"For this new collection, 'A Male Gaze,' only the utmost highest-quality, hand-selected, 100% real human hair in our 7 Star quality was used, which is characterized by perfectly healthy hair with a smooth, closed cuticle," added Elisabeth Brandstetter, Hairdreams Marketing Director. "We are ecstatic that we can provide Charlie Le Mindu with the best hair in the highest quality contributing to this fascinating collection."
