Q&A:

Beauty Launchpad (BLP): What is the backstory of your salon? What motivated you to start your business?

Stevie Meech (SM): I was building an amazing team at the salon I started at and was just rapidly growing and needed a place for me and my team that aligned with their culture and needs at that time. Just the right time to grow.

BLP: What was the most challenging thing that happened while opening your salon?

SM: Opening months before COVID, the original team quit in the first round of shutdowns, and we had to rebuild the salon during COVID.

BLP: What is the overall aesthetic of your salon? What inspired you when designing the space? Stevie Meech is the owner of Stevie the Salon in San Diego, CA.Stevie Meech is the owner of Stevie the Salon in San Diego, CA.Courtesy of Stevie Meech

SM: Luxury with a little flair of Stevie Nicks, since that’s who me and my daughter are named after (I’m Stevie, she’s Nixx).
