After a season of rigorous competition, participating in challenges such as making over cancer survivors, turning beauty bloggers into pin-ups and basing a look off of the word “liberty,” the professionals of Mexico’s SHE Salon were thrilled to win the coveted title of “Global Beauty Masters.” During the show's finale, SHE Salon bested five other teams in creating an avant-garde "Phoenix Rising" look.
The finale was hosted by international model and entrepreneur, Nicole Murphy, and master colorist to Hollywood’s elite, Kim Vō. The judges were platform artist, Charlie Price; celebrity makeup artist, Vicki Starr; master educator, Sam Villa; award-winning nail artist, Amy Becker; and co-founder and chairman of the board of John Paul Mitchell Systems, John Paul DeJoria.
“It’s a lot of emotions. I have around 25 years of doing hair and sometimes people don’t believe in you. Finally, we did it. Now, I want to enjoy this award for the rest of my life,” said Jorge Munoz, SHE Salon team leader. The winners will receive a grand prize that includes product packages from John Paul Mitchell Systems, Beauty & Pin-Ups, Conair, Revlon Professional, Wella, Bar Bar Tools, Fromm Beauty, Goldwell, TIGI and Millennium Software.
In the student competition, Beauty Transformers of the Robert Fiance Beauty School in North Plainfield, New Jersey was the winning team.
The show was written and directed by multiple Emmy nominee Jim Milio, and produced by his award-winning team including executive producer, Jeanette B. Milio, and producers, Glenn Kirschbaum, Jesse Combs and Schlonda McCarthan.
