Watch: Hairstylist Kevin Ryan Makes Waves at Tadashi Shoji NYFW F/W 2018

The Show: Tadashi Shoji, New York Fashion Week Fall/Winter 2018

The Lead Stylist: Kevin Ryan using R Session Pro Tools and UNITE

The Inspiration: “Tadashi referenced film noir for his collection’s inspiration. He always has a strong woman in mind, so we wanted to create a hairstyle with a little bit of glam going on, but that has an edge to it and shows strength,” says Ryan.

The Hero Product: R Session Pro Tools Nalu Waver and Tidal Waver. Both double-barrel irons are used to create relaxed, Hollywood-style (“but not cheesy!”) waves throughout the lengths. “Regular irons can be very cookie cutter. These two irons allow for more play in the types of waves—it’s not so uniform—as well as gives the hairstylist more space to create interesting looks,” says Ryan.
