For long lasting looks that are frizz-free, a heat protectant that has a firm hold to it is a necessity. When I can use it as a non-aerosol hairspray, I am able to double the use and keep everything looking clean.

2. Texture Powder

Backcombing, fluffing braids, expanding curls and creating volume means that I need to have plenty of texture powder by my side.

3. Spray Wax

Like the texture powder, this comes in handy for creating volume and expanding curls, but it has a bit more oomph to it. The texture of spray wax adds fantastic definition and allows me to keep my styles clean and full.

4. Magnetic Bracelet

I have several at this point and cannot work without them! They keep my pins and clips close by, which means I don't have to reach awkwardly around to grab pins. I always have them just a few inches away.

5. My "Just in Case" Fanny Pack

You never know what will happen on a wedding day, and I always keep a few odds and ends items on hand. This pack normally includes: safety pins, a crochet hook (for gown buttons and loops), a needle, some thread, a few pins, a seam ripper, tweezers, nail polish remover pads, a makeup remover pad, an invisibobble in case my hair begins to drive me nuts, my lip gloss/chapstick of the day and gum or mints. I cannot tell you how many times those safety pins have come in handy!
