Holiday season is in full swing, which means it's time for updos to make their reemergence!

Whether you take a more sophisticated approach or keep it simple, pulled back hair looks are the perfect way to add an elegant touch to your holiday looks.

Because this time of year can be super busy, your clients may prefer a quick, easy style, such as a full bun that Ellen Devine (@ellendevinehair), Master Stylist at Lunatic Fringe, shares is "perfect for the holiday season."

Follow the step-by-step tutorial below to learn how to recreate this style. For visual learners, you can also watch Devine create the style in a video tutorial she shared to Instagram.

How-To:

  1. Add body to hair using a Sam Villa Artist Series 2-in-1 Marcel Iron and Wand. Detach the spoon to make it a wand and wrap hair around it in large sections.
  2. Separate the hair left to right. Using the Sam Villa Artist Series Finishing Brush, smooth one side of hair into a high ponytail making a loop, leaving the ends out. Repeat on opposite side.
  3. Take the two buns and cross one over the other and pull through, secure with bobby pin. Hot Tip: secure right where hand is holding the hair in place for best security.
  4. Take the tails that are left out and wrap up and secure. Spray and adjust using a tail comb. Pull out extra pieces for around the face.
