Glam Up Your New Year's Eve

Looking to glam up your New Year’s Eve style? With these quick and easy countdown-ready up-do’s from Paul Cucinello, beauty expert and Creative Director of the Chris Chase Salon in Chelsea, your locks will look ultra-glam as you ring in the new year!

The Top Knot
Bella Thorne's Japanese-inspired top knot is so easy to do and goes with almost any style or accessory. Simply spray your hair generously with Oribe Dry Texture Spray. Flip your head over and gather your hair into a very high ponytail. Tease and re-spray the pony to give it a little volume.  Then, using your Sonia Kashuk brush, smooth out the exterior of the pony, give it a simple twist once around and pin it in place.  Add a little sparkle & bling by attaching a bow to the base of the ponytail or a vintage brooch like Diane Kruger.

The Mermaid Braid
This look worn by Anne Hathaway keeps bangs off your face and shows off dramatic eyes and false lashes.  Start with day old hair, and refresh with Pure & Petal Hair Fragrance. Create a deep side part and French braid the hairline from the front to just behind the ear. Secure with a small rubber band or hair pin. Give your braid a good spray with ECRU New York Sunlight Holding Spray and then gently tease the rest of your hair for volume. Gather all of your hair in a very low ponytail and create a messy bun.  You want the bun to be imperfect so it contrasts the structure of your braid.

The Convertible
I love this look because it's great for both the night-of and the morning after! It will require a little more prep time, but the payoff is huge. Simply start with a great, wavy blowout.  After shampooing your hair with Kerastase Bain Nutri-Thermique and conditioning with ECRU New York Acacia Protein Masque, apply a pump or two of Couture Color Pequi Oil Treatment and give your hair a center part.  Blast hair dry with Parlux 3200 Ceramic & Ionic Hair Dryer. When it's 90% dry, give it a light mist of Elnett Satin Hairspray and brush through. Using your TopStyler C-Shells, set your hair directing it back and away from your part.  Allow to cool completely.  Once set, gather your hair into a low bun like Vanessa Hudgens and pin your hair up in the back.  Detail the ends with New York Streets Wax. When you wake up the next morning, you can just pull out the pins, shake your hair and look gorgeous!
