Runway Report: Twisted Tail at IVY Park

Img 4187Please don’t call it a braid! Lead stylist Lisa Lobosco from ECRU New York, creates a new twist on the ponytail for spring at the Ivy Park presentation. The ultra-sleek “twisted tail” transitions easily from day to evening, making it a sure demand for clients over the year to come. Working alongside designer Kristi Vosbeck, the two wanted to make sure the hair matched the, “Refined, clean, classic and elegant,” look of the show, explains Lobosco.

To get this trend-in-the-making, Lobosco sprays ECRU New York Dry Texture Spray on to the roots, prepping for the style. She then pulls hair back into a low ponytail before dividing into two equal sections. Lobosco coats each side with ECRU New York Dry Wax, which locks hair neatly in place and combats flyaways. Lobosco then overlaps her two sections, so that right goes left and left goes right, to create a “rope-effect.” She alternates in either direction throughout the hair before securing the style with a small band. To finish the look, Lobosco adds wax as needed for an ultimately slick finish. “From fuller to fitted, this refined style works with all the different silhouettes,” explains Lobosco of 2017’s versatile ponytwist.
