Runway Report: Elevated Ballerina Buns at Clan of Cro

Low Bun

Ballerinas make it seem effortless when they make leaps across the stage while donning their tutus, slippers and high knotted-buns. So, too, does Keune lead stylist Shannon King’s hair design at Clan of Cro, which takes a modern and elevated spin on the classic ballerina hairstyle. Think: a super sleek, pulled back and low side-swept twisted bun. “It has an elegant ballerina feel that has more of a high gloss finish,” says King. “It feels very expensive.” To craft the polished bun, King first saturates the models’ tresses with Keune Design Mousse Styling Forte. “We’re rewetting the hair with this so it’s very soft and stays pliable,” he explains. He next slicks and pulls the models’ locks back into a low ponytail and then twists and ropes the hair as he secures it off to the side at the nape of the neck. The result: a simple, understated and elegant hair design that pairs perfectly to the collection and to the makeup, clean skin and uber-chunky lashes by ChicStudios NYC School of Makeup’s key Chainelle Molina.
