Aptar Beauty has introduced Double Click technology for its Twist-to-Lock aerosol actuator range, adding audible and tactile feedback designed to improve usability, transport reliability and consumer confidence. The feature delivers a distinct “double click” sound to confirm secure locking and unlocking, supporting more inclusive operation alongside ergonomic design elements such as textured finger pads and smooth twist motion.

The launch comes as the global valve and bag-on-valve aerosol market rebounds, fueled by strong demand in hair care and rising expectations around performance, safety and sensoriality. Continuous spray formats and pressurized systems are gaining traction for their ability to deliver consistent, high-quality dispensing across applications ranging from personal care to household products.

Double Click also targets the growing importance of e-commerce durability. Twist-to-Lock actuators equipped with the technology meet Amazon ISTA-6 packaging standards, helping reduce risks such as leakage, accidental actuation and breakage during shipping. The added reliability is expected to lower return rates and improve product integrity across distribution channels.

The hoodless actuator design eliminates the need for an overcap, reducing resin use by up to 55% versus traditional systems. The range is POM-free and includes options compatible with up to 100% post-consumer recycled (PCR) materials, aligning with industry shifts toward lower-impact packaging.

Aptar highlighted the system’s flexibility, noting compatibility across multiple formats—including sprays, powders and gels—and a wide range of customization options for brands seeking premium differentiation. Supported by a global manufacturing network, the company said its local-for-local production model also helps reduce lead times and transportation-related emissions.
