Fall 2010 NYFW: TIGI at Yigal Azrouel

Fall 2010 NYFW: TIGI at Yigal AzrouelThe Victor/Victoria vibe designer Yigal Azrouël is so adept at spinning translated quite seemlessly into the accompanying hairstyle, created by Teddy Charles, who was working with Catwalk by TIGI. "Yigal  wanted something chic, nice, cool but easy—not too overdone," he says.

This registers as uniform deep side parts that read masculine, and low looped ponytails with the ends left out to splay chicly. To achieve the style, Charles applied Catwalk by TIGI Your Highness Root Boost Spray section by section throughout the entire head to lend lift and texture. He blow-dried hair, created the side parts and then gathered hair into a low pony. To loop hair, he pulled the ponytail end back through the elastic and fanned out the ends. He finished the style with Catwalk by TIGI Your Higness Firm Holding Spray to lock-in the look.

TIP: Charles sprayed Your Highness Firm Holding Spray on his palms, then ran his hands gently over the models' hair to decrease flyways. "For the look we wanted very easy; we don't want too sleek, shiny perfect and tight," he says. "We want very clean and smooth, yet still soft. I used my hands to make it softer." —Karie L. Frost
