Dedicated to offering the very best in advanced education for salon professionals, Wella Education continues to tap into their network of leading industry educators and hairdressing superstars to forge new alliances. Wella Education announced its newest creative alliance with Jamison Shaw Advanced Hairdressing Systems, Inc. (JSAHS). Starting in January 2015, Candy Shaw, the industry guru of balayage, will integrate the Wella Professionals color portfolio into her education classes.
In 1996, Shaw founded JSAHS, an advanced training academy specializing in teaching French cutting and Balayage highlighting techniques. In 1999 Shaw became the owner of Jamison Shaw Hairdressers®, a 50-year-young, third-generation family-owned and operated salon business, and is the company’s chairperson and chief executive officer. Like her father, she is considered one of the world’s top stylists. Named “One of the World’s Ten Most Published Stylists,” Shaw has been a hairdresser and educator all her adult life.
Being a long-time user of Wella Professionals’ color made the alliance an easy choice for Shaw. “Partnering with Wella is like ordering fries with your burger! It's a no-brainer from my perspective. I've been a Wella customer for over 20 years and have been in the classroom teaching French Haircutting and Balayage Highlighting for at least that long. For that entire time I’ve used Wella’s fantastic color lines to complement how I paint hair.”
Shaw went on to say, “I truly believe in the philosophy of the Wella brand, from their outstanding commitment to education to their Hairdressers at Heart program. Wella prides itself on the amazing relationships they build with salon owners and educators, and becoming an ambassador will allow me to immerse myself in the wonderful Wella family.”
Wella Education’s mission to empower salon professionals across North America complements Shaw’s strong belief in supporting advanced education in the salon. “As a salon owner, I’ve seen first-hand how critical advanced education is for a salon to stay at the top of its game. In our business, anyone can rise to the top.The trick is staying there. And the only sure-fire way of doing that is to focus on advanced education. My father has always had a saying about the beauty business: ‘He who trains best wins!’ Those who fail to educate will find their salons with empty chairs and unmotivated staff members. Supporting advanced education is key to the longevity of your salon and its overall culture. “
“Unique partnerships such as this have confirmed Wella Education’s commitment to giving salon professionals the very best this industry has to offer,” explains Fabio Sementilli VP of Wella Education. “On-going education partnerships have been established with Oribe Hair Care and platform artist Nick Berardi’s NickEducation.com. Candy Shaw is an exciting addition to the Wella alliance program. I have no doubt her expertise will create endless possibilities to what can be achieved with the Wella color portfolio.”
